Developing Advanced Industry 4.0 Applications

We initiated early target market involvement by organizing meetings and facilitating visits to the CUBETM, a demonstration site of Bosch Rexroth showcasing Industry 4.0 innovations. This allowed executives to gain first- hand exposure to core innovation industry trends and opportunities and gain information about our approach.

Based on the identified pain-points and requirements, we designed and built a dedicated application to ensure seamless data flows and state-of-the- art visualization. To meet the performance expectations of Industry 4.0 applications, we created robust time-series databases leveraging sensor and PLC data.

Addressing different stakeholder requirements

The challenges and expectations of key stakeholders are integral to our solution. Plant managers need to oversee the entire factory's performance, focusing on key figures, while production line managers are tasked with monitoring specific production lines, identifying unplanned events, and meeting production targets. Workers on the production line must efficiently address unplanned downtimes and require visibility into both planned and unplanned downtimes, along with target comparisons. These insights inform our development process, ensuring that our solution effectively meets the diverse needs of all stakeholders.

Successfully implemented the Monitoring Application

The developed monitoring and reporting application successfully met client objectives, delivering tangible benefits such as heightened operational efficiency, reduced downtime, and informed decision-making. Early client involvement, collaborative workshops, and a detailed development process were instrumental in driving innovation and fulfilling client needs.

Further developments: Predictive Maintenance and Energy Monitoring

To enhance the system, predictive maintenance functions and energy monitoring capabilities will be integrated. Predictive maintenance will utilize sensor and PLC data to schedule planned downtimes, minimizing unplanned downtime and optimizing maintenance schedules. Energy monitoring will collect and visualize data from energy meters, supporting energy efficiency initiatives and reducing operational costs. These developments align with Industry 4.0 principles, further optimizing manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement. Ongoing collaboration with stakeholders will ensure that these enhancements meet evolving needs and expectations.
